One of the U.K.s fastest growing CBD brands has secured a major contract with the country’s leading supermarket chain.
Birmingham-based Vitality CBD has secured space in all 378 Tesco pharmacies, just two weeks after widening its distribution to all Boots stores nationwide.
This is all in less than a year since the business was established by Birmingham-based e-cigarette and vaping entrepreneur Nikhil Nathwani. Vitality CBD puts its success down to its ‘premium oils produced from high-quality organic hemp’, with over 1,900 stores now stocking its products in the U.K.
CBD Consumers Seek Trusted Brands
Vitality CBD says the entry of the major UK pharmaceutical outlets into the CBD market is seeing them prioritise ‘trusted brands’. Vitality CBD’s commercial director Phil Glyn believes its USP is its ‘concise online educational material and availability of its third-party lab reports’./
Tesco’s will stock its CBD Muscle Balm and flagship THC-free CBD Oral Spray with Vitality’s data saying that, as in the Vitamin market, the use of sublingual sprays is rapidly outgrowing traditional droppers, thanks to its ‘easier dosage and light-mist application’.
Vitality CBD currently employs 40 staff, and is expanding into the European continent. The arrival of CBD in Tescos and Boots follows its appearance in most U.K. High Street pharmacies, health food shops such as Holland & Barrett as well as on-line.
Concerns Over CBD Quality
Tesco has around 3,500 shops in the U.K. employing almost half a million people with a market share of almost 30%.Vitality’s rapid growth in such a short space of time demonstrates how new entrants can still make significant progress in the fast-growing U.K. and European markets.
A recent report from the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis found there could be up to six million U.K. CBD users, although it also flagged up concerns over the quality of CBD in the country.
However, Vitality’s rise has not yet seen it advance in to the list of the top 10 U.K. CBD brands, as published by Marijuana Break news website. It lists Israel company Provocan as the leader in the U.K. market, based on its evaluation of ‘quality, safety, effectiveness, and overall value for the money’.
