Written by Peter McCusker

High-end British department store Selfridges has listed the CBD range of a new U.K start-up which has also been boosted by a 847,000 Euro investment.

Whilst, separately, efforts are being made, through a crowdfunding website, to launch the U.K’s first CBD-infused chocolate Advent Calendar, reports MetroNews. London-based Grass & Co was launched last year by experienced entrepreneur Ben Grass, and has quickly made rapid market strides.

Its tie-up with Selfridges will see the leading department store stock a range of its CBD products in its London and Manchester outlets and on its website

U.K. CBD Juggernaut

The company has also closed an 847,000 Euro seed financing round backed by a number of experienced angel investors, reports the website. Toby Gordon-Smith, CEO, Grass & Co said its is ‘committed to producing a quality, ethically sourced CBD product free from pesticides and herbicides that consumers can trust’.

Selfridges currently stock Kiki Health CBD products and its latest CBD deal will see it carry Grass & Co’s Ease and Calm ranges, which include body oils and muscle balms. Selfridges is the latest major high street brand to succumb to the CBD juggernaut – with over one million daily users in the U.K. the market is set to be worth over £1 billion within a few years.

£11,000 Target For Calendar

World-renowned London brand Harrods now stock a range supplied by Dragonfly Biosciences, whilst Tesco recently launched a range supplied by Vitality CBD. Both U.K. health food shop Holland & Barrett and health and wellness,  and pharmacy chain Boots also stock and sell CBD products.

Meanwhile the Metro news website reports on a crowdfunding campaign that aims to support the release of a CBD chocolate advent calendar. It says the product will feature 24 doors filled with ‘premium milk chocolate containing 10mg of CBD’.

Crowd-funder James Ware aims to raise £11,000 in total and each person who donates £25 or more will receive their own calendar by December 1 – but only if the total is reached.
