Less than 48 hours before the event was set to begin, Spannabis announced they will be forced to postpone their Barcelona show due to “extraordinary measures”.
- Update: ICBC (International Cannabis Business Conference) Spain is officially cancelled as well. Please check back with us for more updates.
As coronavirus continues to spread throughout the world and the situation in Italy and the rest of Europe becomes increasingly grim, many eyes were on Spannabis – one of the largest cannabis events in the world – to see if they would be canceling, postponing, or conducting business as usual.
Until yesterday, Spannabis planned to hold their event unchanged, but the Spanish Government just began imposing a cap on event attendance throughout the country, no more than 1,000 people total.
Spannabis sent this notice via email:
“As you may know, this morning, the Generalitat of Catalunya announced ‘extraordinary measures’ to respond to COVID-19 coronavirus disease.
Much to our regret, that gatherings of more than 1,000 people at indoor or outdoor events have been banned, in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus in Catalonia.
Spannabis has been postponed until the autumn. We will inform you shortly more about it.
We have tried as hard as possible to hold Spannabis normally, but under these circumstances, we have no alternative.
To request a refund for the ticket, submit your request to entradas@spannabis.com. Or if you prefer to keep the ticket you bought, you will be able to use it for Spannabis next edition.
We remain at your disposal for any further questions or information at: entradas@spannabis.com.
We appreciate your support and understanding. Thanks indeed.”
