Phenopen: A Legal Alternative To CBD Flowers In The UK?

With all the controversy over the legality of CBD flowers in the UK, especially following the recent arrest and prosecution of a flower vendor, some folks in the UK are looking for a legal alternative to CBD flowers – like the new PhenoPen Vape Kit.

When Mark Rivers, the owner of Mushroom Headshop & CBD Hemp Botanicals Store in Preston, UK., got arrested, charged and convicted for selling CBD flowers, it reminded people that cannabis flowers are still illegal and carry penalties, despite how mainstream they’ve become.

Following that conviction (the first of its kind in the U.K.) Jill Frankham, Senior Compliance Officer for the Drugs & Firearms Licensing Unit from Cannabis Law Reform, posted an urgent warning on the website. In that post, Frankham warns, “The law treats these products exactly the same as any other cannabis. It makes no difference what the THC level is, it is a class B drug, and the penalty for possession is up to five years in jail and an unlimited fine.”

When the Home Office in the UK was contacted by Frankham seeking clarity on the legality of CBD flowers, the response was, “I can confirm that the leaves and flowers of the genus Cannabis are controlled and defined as cannabis as outlined in Section 37(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.”

The bottom line is that the legality of CBD flowers in the U.K. is questionable and unclear, and that could spell jail time for people found guilty.

Legal Alternative to CBD Flowers

Whenever things are prohibited and law is strictly enforced, people find ingenious ways to get around those laws. CBD in the UK is an anomaly as it is technically legal, in some forms. For example, Holland and Barrett, the largest chain of health stores in the United Kingdom by far, sell CBD oil and even advertise it openly.

That CBD oil contains high concentrations of CBD extract from hemp, with the same exact compounds and terpenes as raw CBD flowers. However, if that identical CBD is taken in flower (buds) form, that’s when it becomes illegal. Confused? So is just about everyone.

All this means that if you take the finest CBD flowers, process them in the right way and extract the compounds and chemical properties from them it’s 100% legal and there’s no issue (as long as it’s derived from hemp). That’s why so many CBD users in the UK are looking for a suitable alternative so they can get their much-loved CBD without any fear of prosecution. And that’s precisely where the PhenoPen comes into play.

There are a lot of different CBD vape juices on the market. They come in a range of mouth-watering flavors and contain varying CBD concentrations, usually ranging from around 200mg-1000mg. However, these bottles of CBD E-liquid usually come in either 30ml or 50ml bottles, and that means you need to vape the whole bottle, or at least most of it, to benefit from the CBD inside in any meaningful way.

The PhenoPen premium vape pen comes with easily replaceable cartridges which contain just 0.5ml of hemp extract liquid. The thing with PhenoPen is that there’s 150mg of pure CBD, other minor cannabinoid compounds and terpenes inside that small, sealed pod. This means that you get a potent, tasty, and satisfying puff every time with this device and the effects are particularly robust, well-rounded, and long-lasting.

PhenoPen is Cheaper Than CBD Flowers

CBD is a fantastic naturally-occurring compound which helps people of all ages and from different walks of life. People use CBD for relief from the symptoms of anxiety, inflammation, sleeplessness, and chronic pain, to name just a few conditions. Those people who need instant and sustained relief for their ailment will often opt for CBD flowers – to be smoked or vaporized.

But with the current legal quagmire in the U.K. (and other parts of the world) over CBD, premium vape pens like PhenoPen are becoming increasingly sought after. However, there’s another major factor at play here, and that’s money. CBD flowers don’t come cheap, and you get what you pay for in most cases. Some finely cultivated CBD flowers can contain anywhere up to 25% CBD, while they contain no THC.

Other poorly grown hemp will only contain 5-10% CBD and may not look, smell or taste great. At the top end, you’re looking at anywhere from $150 to $250 per ounce (28 grams) for CBD flowers. At the lower end, you can purchase CBD flowers for $75 per ounce, but it won’t contain high amounts of CBD in most cases.

Each 0.5ml PhenoPen cartridge contains a surprising 59.7% CBD concentration. That means there’s 150mg of CBD (and other compounds and terpenes) in each 0.5ml replacement pod. PhenoPen estimates that each of their cartridges is equivalent to roughly 28 grams (1 ounce) of CBD flowers. When you consider that PhenoPen cartridges only cost around $25 each, you see the money-saving potential of such a device.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to breaking the law, one has to always err on the side of caution. With the recent headlines and home office confirmation that CBD flowers are a controlled substance in the UK, CBD users need t obe extra careful. For those who don’t want to experience any more “prohibition-induced-trauma” when it comes to cannabis and hemp, Premium CBD vaping devices like the PhenoPen are a fantastic solution.

As they contain only minuscule, trace amounts of THC, CBD vape pens are legal in the UK. To think, you can get the equivalent of an ounce of potent CBD flowers in extract form for only $25 per cartridge makes PhenoPen a logical and shrewd choice for CBD lovers.
