New study traces cannabis back 28 million years to Tibet

A new paper was recently published in the Journal of Vegetation History and Archaeobotany that traces the history of the cannabis plant all the back to a specific region of the Tibetan Plateau. This fascinating research study, titled “Cannabis in Asia: Its center of origin and early cultivation, based on a synthesis of subfossil pollen and archaeobotanical studies,” was led by John McPartland from the University of Vermont.
