Univo, one of the few companies to run a full seed-to-sale medical cannabis operation, has just partnered with GrowX in a deal that will make Israel a global hot spot for medical cannabis distribution.

The Israeli-based company announced today that they’ll be partnering with up-and-coming aeroponics developer GrowX, and working on a new, massive facility in a mission to expand their medical cannabis distribution empire. Univo is one of the only companies in the world that’s licensed in every single part of the development process: cultivation, production, research, and distribution.

In addition to constructing their 750m2  facility off the coast of Israel – which is set to encompass new research techniques, advanced growing methods, and distinctive water irrigation systems – they also signed a deal to sell 2 kilograms of cannabis oil to GrowX every month for a total of 3 years. This will bring the company a total of 1.8 million USD throughout the duration of the contract.

Univo has the potential to make Israeli the worldwide epicenter of cannabis research and distribution

Univo conducts all of its studies on site and will continue to do so as they expand their state-of-the-art research and development laboratory. They’re in a unique position to not only create superior, medical grade products from top of the line cannabis strains grown by the company, but they can also be in charge of where said products are being distributed.

Their main focus when developing new products is pain management, neurodegenerative disorders, autoimmune diseases, inflammation, metabolic conditions, and neurological disorders. Some of what’s in the works for 2019 includes: helping children with ADHD, alleviating tooth and gum pain, treating skin conditions (allergies in particular), and relieving pain caused by intestinal issues (such as hemorrhoids and colitis).

“The global market shift from recreational to legalized cannabis, along with Univo’s unique position of seed to market control, will place our company as a prominent leader in research and development of medical cannabis products,” says Golan Bitton, CEO of Univo. “Our partnership with GrowX, and the state of the art facility in the works, will allow us to continue using groundbreaking techniques, in hopes of growing high-quality cannabis, and developing a diverse product line.”

Due to the exorbitant costs of manufacturing and producing cannabis products, most companies don’t have the funds to create such an assorted line of products in such large quantities. Because Univo is licensed to do it all, not to mention they’re based in Israel where production costs are some of the lowest in the world, the company is able to keep their expenses minimal, allowing for maximum development and distribution.

This is big news for the cannabis industry, not just in Israel but across the globe. Stay tuned for more updates.
