The Scientist – The Discovery Of THC

Discovery Of THC
Written by Corre Addam

One of the best films ever made about the history of modern CannaTech (Cannabis Technology) is “The Scientist”. The movie tells the story of Dr. Rafael Mechoulam, a Nobel price nominee, and the discovery of THC and its importance to the human brain.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), as we all know now, is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis. His second great discovery was the isolation and the identification of the endogenous cannabinoids anandamide. In fact, without the great ongoing contribution of Dr. Meshulam and his research, this whole website wasn’t possible, so he is, truly, one of the Founding Fathers of modern Cannatech.

The movie was produced by Zach Klein in association with Fundación CANNA, a non-profit research foundation focusing on the study of Cannabis and its compounds.

Well worth a watch…
