Pre-rolls are a fan favorite amongst the more advanced cannabis consumers, but with just a bit of patience and practice, anyone can enjoy the benefits of a smooth and smoky pre-roll. Thick cigars are packed with varying amounts of Delta-8 THC to offer a smooth and slow-burning smoking experience. These cannagars are what encouraged the brand to offer other hemp-infused products, including supplements and pre-rolls, available in both Delta-8 THC and HHC. You can browse the full site at your leisure, but right now I’d like to focus on the product I’ll be reviewing today: their HHC pre-rolls!
The Puro Cannagar HHC pre-rolls come in a resealable pouch that holds two-prolls. The two-pack is sold for a mere $11.99, and the site offers free expedited shipping on orders over $100. Each pre-roll contains a full gram of CBD, THC, and HHC and is available in eight enticing flavors. The flavors all have a fruit inspiration, featuring mouthwatering options like Peaches & Cream and Grape Jelly. Pre-rolls are already a novelty in the market, but this was the first brand I’ve encountered that offers fruit-flavored options.
The flavors are categorized as being either Relaxing or Uplifting, which is great if you’re looking for a specific effect. Both of the pre-rolls I’ve tried already (Sweet Strawberry and Banana Candy) have been listed as “Relaxing,” and certainly fulfilled that description with their calming qualities. The Melona flavor is also listed in the Relaxing category and completes our holy trinity in this third and final pre-roll product review. Without further ado, it’s time to check out this fruity pre-roll called Melona by Puro Cannagar. Let’s begin!
Puro Cannagars Melona HHC Pre-Roll Product Review
Melon can be a difficult flavor to replicate, especially when you realize how many types of melon there are. Watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon are all delicious as fresh fruits, but their watery flavor can get lost quite easily when used in product flavoring. As an avid lover of fresh slices of summer melons, I was intrigued to see how the Melona flavored pre-rolls would measure up to the real thing.
I quickly tore open the resealable pouch and was surprised to not detect any fruity goodness wafting into my nostrils. I held the open pouch closer to my nose but was only able to smell the familiar scent of hemp with a very faint underlying fruity something. I shook out a pre-roll and noted that it was about 3” long. I spent a few minutes admiring how the pre-roll felt lightweight and delicate between my fingers. I held the pre-roll to my nose and was able to detect a stronger fruit scent.
While it was definitely sweet and fruity, I was a bit disappointed that the scent wasn’t instantly recognizable as melon. I have yet to figure out how Puro Cannagars infuses the flavor into their pre-rolls, but my best guess is either fruit-scented rolling papers or fruit essence infused right into the ground flower before it gets rolled.
Once I finished smelling the pre-roll to get an idea of how the melon flavor was, I proceeded to light it and take my first hit. I instantly tasted a smoky flavor of hemp but was pleasantly surprised to taste a strong melon flavor as well. The melon flavor was strong on both the inhale and the exhale which was very effective in masking the other flavors of hemp and tobacco. The pre-roll burned easily and ashed slowly, allowing me to enjoy the overall smoking session. I experienced some light coughing but the drags weren’t as aerated as I anticipated, which seemed to indicate it was packed more firmly than other pre-rolls I’ve tried. The pre-roll itself reminded me of a joint that I might make myself due to its quality craftsmanship.
It took about 20 minutes to smoke the pre-roll comfortably and I started feeling some of the effects about halfway through the smoking session. I enjoy a rolling sensation of relaxation and calmness, as well an increase in my mental awareness. I felt a light sense of energy that motivated me to move around and accomplish small tasks, and I felt an enhanced sense of creativity that allowed me to think more clearly. I was pleased to not feel any drowsiness or weighted eyelids. I also did not feel restless, or overwhelmed at any point during the high. I didn’t experience any dry mouth or increased appetite, but felt comfortable throughout the entire high. The high lasted for about an hour and definitely lived up to its “Relaxing” categorization.
Conclusion
The Melona HHC Pre-Roll by Puro Cannagars was truly a unique and satisfying experience. While I can’t say that the melon flavor was instantly recognizable, I heartily appreciated the infusion of sweet fruit in both the scent and the taste. The pre-roll was well-made and very easy to use, allowing me to enjoy it for a solid twenty minutes. The effects of the pre-roll kicked in about midway through the smoking session and lasted for about an hour.
I felt wonderfully calm and relaxed, and even noticed that my energy levels were somewhat elated. I did not experience any bouts of uneasiness or drowsiness, nor did I feel any dry mouth or munchies. I was delighted with the infusion of sweet fruit flavor in both the inhale and the exhale of this pre-roll. One thing that surprised me about the Puro Cannagars pre-rolls was that none of them were listed as sativa, indica, or hybrid strains. Brands typically list the strain used in their pre-rolls so that the user knows a bit of what to expect. Indica strains are usually deeply sedating and carry a sense of weighted couch-lock, sativa strains tend to leave the user feeling more alert and awake, and hybrid strains are usually a combination of the two.
However, the Puro Cannagars were a well-rounded combination of all three!
