Many vendors and herbal stores will say that their products are 100% THC free. Which might be the case, but this depends on a couple of factors:

  1. The level of THC in CBD products will depend on how the compound was extracted, to begin with. If not done correctly, trace amounts of THC may find its way into the final product. When discussing THC is’t important to ask if smoking hemp flowers can make you fail a dug test, as hemp flowers a becoming a popular CBD products.
  2. Where you buy it from. A lot of companies out there make unsubstantiated claims about their products.

Experts, however, say that you can find CBD products with 0% THC levels that will definitely NOT show up on any drug test, thus, using CBD most likely won’t get you fired.

In order to be on the safer side ensure that you:

  • Buy your CBD products from known and trusted retailers. This will minimize the risk of buying backdoor and poor quality products that might end up containing higher levels of THC than one would expect. There are some companies that provide lab results for their products to assure customers that they are on the up-and-up.
  • Do not buy cheap products. CBD in its pure form is hard to extract and this will definitely reflect on the value of the end product, therefore, if the product is too cheap then you should probably not buy it.
  • Only consume the necessary and recommended dosage. Do not exceed your limit. Remember even if the product you are using has a low level THC content, when you overuse it there’s the possibility that it will build up to a higher levels of THC in your system.

When THC shows up on that random drug test at work, then you might end up with just a warning, or, worst case scenario, you could lose your job. However, CBD use is very unlikely to get you fired. Either way, if you are employed it is very important to tread lightly when using any type of cannabis products.
