Hemp seeds leave earth for special space station analysis

That’s right, hemp seeds are on their way to the International Space Station aboard the SpaceX 17 from Cape Canaveral. The plan is to observe how the seeds react to being in zero gravity and to find improvements for better cultivation here on Earth. The mission was organized by Space Tango and while it may sound completely out of this world – pun intended – it’s not the first time seeds have been sent into orbit for research. Veterans move towards medical cannabis, but the VA opposes it

The health subcommittee of the Veterans Affairs recently heard testimony on three medical cannabis bills, all of which garnered strong support from multiple organizations. However, the VA itself has openly opposed the bills, citing the federal status of cannabis as a reason. The bills are titled: the VA Medicinal Cannabis Research Act of 2019 (H.R. 712), Veterans Cannabis Use for Safe Healing Act (H.R. 2191) and the Veterans for Equal Access Act (H.R. 1647). UK firm backed by Star Trek star and Snoop Dogg to raise $50 million

U.K. company Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies is trying to raise $50 million to study different combinations of cannabinoids for the treatment of various conditions including pain, inflammation, neurological disorders, and cancer. The company is backed by Snoop Dogg’s venture firm, Casa Verde, and Star Trek actor Patrick Stewart just to name a couple. According to Oxford Chairman Neil Mahapatra, the plan is to “unravel the secrets of a plant that has been stigmatized for decades”. Click here to read the full story.

Koi CBD faces lawsuit after Pennsylvania woman fails drug test

A Pennsylvania woman failed a drug test after using Koi CBD vape juice that she purchased at a local mall, and now, she is taking legal action against the company. The plaintiff, Bianca Thurston who was using CBD products to manage pain, was fired from her job of 1 year after testing positive for “cannabinoids”. She filed the case in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County where Koi CBD is based out of. Click here to read the full story.

Microdosing: The ideal way to manage cannabis and CBD

Some people like to get heavily medicated from their cannabis, while others prefer a milder experience. If you’re the latter, microdosing might be the way to go. Initially, it was psychoactive mushrooms that people were using to microdose after a doctor discovered that very low doses of psilocybin can effectively treat anxiety and depression. Israeli police warn Eurovision visitors against CBD

This month, the world-renowned Eurovision Song Contest will be in Israel for the first time ever. Typically, people are able to travel with their prescription medications, and this has many tourists wondering if they’ll be allowed to bring their CBD products with them.
