The study, a collaboration between the Brightfield Group and HelloMD, took a close look at CBD usage, and its connection to a variety of things, including gender and social status. Apparently women are more likely to use CBD than men, and for those that do, it often spells the end for addictive pain meds and opioids.
Cannatech has already reported extensively on Cannabidiol, CBD, noting its numerous health benefits as concluded by a bunch of studies over the last few years. As opposed to THC, the Psychoactive element in cannabis, CBD does’t make you high nor disorient you.
The most common uses for CBD, as noted in the study, were for insomnia, depression, anxiety and joint pain. As Chief Medical Officer of HelloMD, Dr Perry Solomon told reporters, “Across the board, people are using cannabis for these four reasons.”
The study found that remarkably, 42% of CBD users said they had stopped using traditional medications, like pain relievers or prescription drugs like Vicodin, and had switched to using cannabis instead. At the same time, 80% said that they found CBD products to be “very or extremely effective.”
And while there are numerous CBD products on the market, not to mention various forms of consumption, one has to do their due diligence and research the best CBD product for them.
As Dr. Solomon concluded, “This landmark survey, in terms of its size and depth, shows the tremendous value that these products have for patients. Hopefully access for products such as these will help patients all across the country who cannot obtain medication that contains THC.”
While this study wasn’t the most scientific it did produce some very interesting and compelling results, which will no doubt lead to more studies, as well as debate, regarding CBD products.
